网易汽车1月11日报道 1月13日,2013年全球汽车论坛中美对话暨全球汽车精英论坛将在底特律召开。届时,100余名中美车企及零部件企业高管、汽车领域专家、金融机构及咨询机构高管和中外专业媒体欢聚一堂,就共同关心的热点问题交流看法。现对部分出席的重要嘉宾做一番简介。

王侠先生1982考入清华大学汽车工程系,1987年获得该系学士学位。1987年至1989年在天津客车装配厂新品开发科担任设计师。他在1989年至1992年期间就读于清华大学汽车工程系,并获得硕士学位。1992年至1993年在中国汽车工业总公司国际合作司任职。1993年12月被任命为机械部汽车司汽车贸促会副秘书长。1997年至1998年考取志奋领奖学金并就读于英国牛津布禄士商学院,并获得MBA学位。1998年12月至2009年9月间,先后任中国国际贸易促进委员会汽车行业分会(现命名为汽车行业委员会)副秘书长、秘书长、副会长。2009年9月被任命为中国国际贸易促进委员会汽车行业委员会会长。

Mr. Wang Xia served at the International Cooperation Department of the China National Automotive Industry Corporation from 1992-1993. He was subsequently named Vice Secretary General at Automotive Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Automotive Department, Ministry of Machinery Industry. He then obtained a Chevening Scholarship and studied at the Oxford Brookes Business School, obtaining an MBA in 1998. He held various positions including Vice Secretary General; Secretary General; and Vice-Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Automotive Sub-Council.(now named Automotive Industry Committee). He was promoted to the poisition of Chairman of CCPIT-auto in September 2009.  Mr. Wang Xia received a Degree in Automotive Engineering from Tsinghua University in 1987. From 1987-1989 he worked in Tianjin Bus assembly plant as a design engineer. He then went to Tsinghua University, where he obtained a Master’s Degree in Automobile Engineering in 1992.


聂子锋

底特律工程师协会(DCEA)

国际专业委员会会长

聂子锋博士历任底特律工程师协会(DCEA)秘书长、副主席及主席职务,现任该协会国际专业委员会会长。

聂子锋曾任太原理工大学讲师、东京计算力学研究中心技术部主任,现在作为“资深技术专家”供职达索美国(DS SIMULIA),从事前沿分析技术开发、工程咨询,专业培训等工作。作为工程模拟、复合材料及应用力学专家,聂子锋曾为福特、通用及克莱斯勒等公司解决了诸多关于汽车撞击性能、整车及系统NVH及动力系统疲劳强度分析等难题,并为NASA,安省核电站,通用汽车等单位讲授动力分析、断裂破坏、复合材料分析等高级课程。

柴占祥先生先后就读于清华大学汽车工程系和科罗拉多州立大学商学院,研究生学历。同时为美国项目管理协会(PMI)认证项目管理师(PMP)。从1990年起曾先后供职于中国运载火箭技术研究院、奔驰公司、菲亚特公司、美资亚新科集团,担任各种技术与管理职务。2009年起,任中国国际贸易促进委员会汽车行业分会会展部主任、全球汽车论坛组委会秘书长及上海车展高峰论坛负责人,负责汽车贸促会顶级会议平台的搭建以及国际合作等工作。

a Master’s Degree holder, has studied at Automotive Engineering Department of Tsinghua University and Business School of Colorado State University respectively. He is also a PMP certified by Project Management Institute, USA. Since 1990, James Chai has served at China Academy for Launch-Vehicle Technology, Mercedes-Benz Beijing Liaison Office, Fiat Auto Beijing Representative Office, ASIMCO Group subsequently, holding various technical and managerial positions. He was named Director of Convention & Exhibition Department of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Automotive Committee in 2009, responsible for top level conferences’ operation and international cooperation. He was then promoted to the position of Secretary General, Global Automotive Forum Organizing Committee in 2011.

David E. Cole is the Chairman Emeritus of the Center for Automotive Research (CAR) in Ann Arbor, Michigan and Chairman of Auto Harvest.  He was formerly Director of the Office for the Study of Automotive Transportation (OSAT) at the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute and an engineering professor at the University of Michigan.  He has worked extensively on internal combustion engines, vehicle design, and overall automotive industry trends.

Dr. Cole's recent research has focused on strategic issues related to the restructuring of the North American industry and trends in globalization, technology, market factors, and human resource requirements. He is chairman of Auto Harvest, a new organization being developed to facilitate the flow of intellectual property in and out of the auto industry. He was formerly a member of the Energy Engineering Board of the National Research Council, the U.S.-Canada Free Trade Pact Select Panel and the Michigan Strategic Economic Investment and Commercialization Board.   He is also director of six automotive related companies.  Dr. Cole was formerly a member of the Executive Committee of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and the Michigan Renewable Fuels Commission. He was named a co-chair of Detroit Renaissance’s “Road to Renaissance” Project in the fall of 2006.  At the University of Michigan he is a member of the Energy Research Council, Mechanical Engineering External Advisory Board and the Biological Station Advisory Committee. He is also a member of the Denso Foundation Board and recently was appointed to the Business Development Committee of Ann Arbor Spark.   Dr. Cole was formerly a director of the Automotive Hall of Fame and the Original Equipment Suppliers Association and a member of the Board of Trustees of Hope College.

He is active in SAE, including serving two terms on the Board of Directors.  In February 1986, he was named a fellow of SAE.  He is also active in the Engineering Society of Detroit and was elected to fellow status in 1990.  In 2000, he received the Engineering Society’s highest award, the Horace H. Rackham medal. He is also a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and was elected to fellow grade in 2009.  In 1993, he received the National Automobile Dealers Association Foundation's International Freedom of Mobility Award.  In 1994, Design News selected Dr. Cole as one of eight engineering leaders, and he was also selected to receive Sweden's Order of the Polar Star.  He is currently a member of the editorial advisory board of Popular Mechanics.

In the fall of 1998, Dr. Cole was named as the Marketing Educator of the Year by the Society of Marketing Executives.  Additionally, he received the 1998 Rene Dubos Environmental Award for his contributions to the industrial ecology of the automobile and in 1999, Chevalier of the National Order of Merit from France.  In addition, he received the 2008 Mechanical Engineering Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Michigan

Dr. Cole also has been actively involved in the start-up of five different Ann Arbor-based companies.  Dr. Cole's technical and policy consulting experience includes a variety of assignments for industry, labor, and government and he has spoken to more than 1000 different groups on automotive issues.

Dr. Cole received his B.S.M.E. and Mathematics, M.S.M.E. and Ph.D. from the University of Michigan and an honorary doctorate from Cleary University.

G. Mustafa Mohatarem, Ph.D., was named chief economist of General Motors Corporation on March 1, 1995.

GM’s Economics Team is responsible for assessing the impact of worldwide economic developments on the company.  The Team’s primary responsibility is to forecast economic growth and vehicle sales in countries around the world.  In addition, the Economics Team provides advice to the company on various competitive and economic policy issues.  Mohatarem serves on the Corporate Risk Management Committee.

Mohatarem is an expert on trade issues and heads the company’s Trade Team.  Mohatarem has also served as visiting assistant professor at the University of Notre Dame.  While at GM, he has taught courses as an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Michigan and the University of Detroit.


Mike Thomas

Thomas began his automotive career at Ford Motor Company in 1968. As Executive Director of World Wide Automotive Planning, he led the development of a U.S. and European consensus to globalize Ford’s powertrain operations. This accomplishment became the foundation for the development of Ford 2000— the globalization of Ford’s enterprise.

As Executive Director to USCAR, Thomas led Big Three research collaboration efforts with the government to develop fuel efficiency improvement technologies.  He assisted in the formation of the Army’s National Automotive Center (NAC) to conduct dual-use technology developments for future military and industry vehicles.  He opened SAIC’s (Science Applications International Corporation) Detroit Automotive practice prior to founding Automotive Insight.

Thomas received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, where he is a member of the Board of Trustees and received his PhD in engineering (honorary). Thomas received his master’s degree in business administration from the University of Denver.

Mike Thomas founded Automotive Insight in 2004, bringing extensive automotive industry knowledge, experience, skills and relationships to clients.  Areas of concentration include development of strategy and business; supplier, manufacturing and quality competitiveness; idea generation and technology innovation; and vehicle and powertrain engineering. Our people, connections and relationships are the keys to our success.

Prior to founding Automotive Insight, Thomas opened SAIC’s (Science Applications

International Corporation) Detroit Automotive practice.  During his tenure, SAIC acquired ANX -Business, providing secure, low-latency network communications for OEM and supplier data exchange.  Other endeavors included developing a winning program for hydrogen fuel cell technical development with the DOE and modeling of embedded software systems for improved quality.

Thomas began his automotive career at Ford Motor Company in 1968, and served 30 years in worldwide strategic, product, technical and business planning; product development; and powertrain and vehicle engineering and program management.

As Director of World Wide Automotive Planning, he led the development of a U.S. and European consensus to globalize Ford’s powertrain operations. This accomplishment became the  foundation for the development of Ford 2000— the globalization of Ford’s enterprise.

Subsequently, Thomas led Ford's Powertrain complexity reduction initiatives to improve engineering and manufacturing efficiency, supplier cost reduction and quality competitiveness.

As Executive Director to USCAR, Thomas led Big Three research collaboration efforts with the government to develop fuel efficiency improvement technologies.  He assisted in the formation of the Army’s National Automotive Center (NAC) to conduct dual-use technology developments for future military and industry vehicles.

From 1983 to 1987, Thomas led Ford Brazil’s Product Development during the implementation of the Escort and Cargo programs for domestic and export sale, and directed the technical support for Ford’s merger with Volkswagen to form Autolatina.

Thomas was born and raised in Indiana. In 1964, he received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical  engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, where he is a member of the Board of Trustees and received his PhD in engineering (honorary).      He served as an officer in the U.S.

Army during the Vietnam War. (Automotive Insight is a service disabled veteran owned small business.) In 1968, Thomas received his master’s degree in business administration from the  University of Denver.

Paul Ingrassia was appointed Deputy Editor-in-Chief at Thomson Reuters in April 2011.In this position, he is responsible for managing and directing content creation for theworld’s largest multimedia news organization.Paul is a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist and the former President of Dow Jones Newswires. He served as President from 1998 to 2006. In 2006 and 2007, Paul was thecompany’s vice president for news strategy. During his 31-year career with The Wall Street Journal and its parent company, Dow Jones, Paul also held positions as reporter, editor and executive. As the Journal's Detroit bureau chief, Paul won a Pulitzer Prize in 1993 -- along with his deputy, Joseph B. White – for coverage of the prior year's crisis at General Motors. The two also won a Loeb Award that year. Paul's most recent book is "Crash Course: the American Automobile Industry's Road from Glory to Disaster," published last year by Random House. Over the years Paul has taught as an adjunct professor at the Graduate School of Journalism at Columbia University and lectured at the business schools at Columbia and the University of Michigan. Paul is a 1972 graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and has a master's degree in journalism from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.

Joseph Vitale Jr. is the Global Automotive Sector leader with Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited (DTTL). In this leadership role, he leads a global network of partners and practitioners to grow relationships with clients in the automotive industry, shapes and communicates global industry insights, and supports initiatives to expand the capabilities in strategic markets. In addition, Joe is the Global Lead Client Service Partner for Deloitte member firm services to Ford Motor Company. He is responsible for delivering the firm’s multidisciplinary solutions, including consulting, enterprise risk management, tax, and financial advisory services to Ford worldwide. With more than 20 years experience, Joe’s career has been accentuated by projects to assist manufacturing companies with business performance improvement. He specializes in corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, supply chain optimization, and new product development. Also, Joe has a distinguished track record of service to many leading automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and tier one suppliers. Previously, he served as the manufacturing industry leader and automotive sector leader for one of the large regional markets within Deloitte United States (Deloitte LLP). Joe graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a Masters in Business Administration, and also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the State University of New York in Buffalo. Prior to joining Deloitte US, he worked as a manufacturing engineer at FMC Corporation and Westinghouse Manufacturing Systems and Technology Center.

Dr. Jie Du is a Vice President of Analytics at Trilogy, an innovative software company providing business information systems and market intelligence applications to automotive industry, insurance & financial services industry, and telecommunication industry. He oversees the business modeling and market analysis activities of the company. He is creating a Smarter Team, a global network of modeling experts, to develop cutting-edge market analytics models for current and future products. Before joining Trilogy, Dr. Du had worked as a Director of Modeling and Scientific Programming at J. D. Power and Associates, a market intelligence information firm. He was responsible for the US light vehicle sales forecast and the production of Weekly Light Vehicle Sales Report with wide-range of clients from automotive OEMs, major suppliers, financial institutions, Wall Street firms, and government agencies. His team has developed various business applications to help automotive clients to improve their operational efficiency in the past ten years. As an automotive market expert of the company, he frequently interviewed with reporters and gave talks at conferences on US automotive market.

Dr. Du is a member of American Management Association and a member of Society of Automotive Analysts. He served as a president of DCEA in 2002 and board member in 2000 – 2002. He is the current director of the Market Analytics Committee of DCEA Tech Council.

Dr. Du has a joint Ph. D. of Nuclear Engineering and Scientific Computing from University of Michigan. He also has master degrees of Nuclear Engineering from both University of Michigan and Tshinghua University.

蔡海绵博士自2003年起担任中国汽车系统股份公司(NAQSDA: CAAS)审计委员会、薪酬委员会和提名委员会的主任及委员。蔡博士是汽车业的技术专家。在加入中国汽车系统股份公司之前,蔡博士曾在ITT汽车有限公司担任主任工程师。蔡博士撰写过15篇技术论文,并与他人合著过关于粉末冶金在汽车业应用的技术专著。他还拥有10多项专利(包括未决专利)。蔡博士拥有清华大学汽车工程学士学位和伍斯特理工学院(Worcester Polytechnic Institute)的制造工程硕士和博士学位。

Dr. Haimian Cai has been a Director since September 2003 and a member of China Automotive System Inc. (NAQSDA: CAAS) Audit Committee, Compensation Committee and Nominating Committee. Dr. Cai is a technical specialist in the automotive industry. Prior to that, Dr. Cai was a staff engineer in ITT Automotive Inc. Dr. Cai has written more than fifteen technical papers and co-authored a technical book regarding the powder of metallurgy industry for automotive application. Dr. Cai has more than ten patents in USA including pending patents. Dr. Cai holds a B.S. Degree in Automotive Engineering from Tsinghua University and a M.S. and Ph. D. in manufacturing engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Ming Kuang started his career at Ford as a control engineer in electric vehicle programs in 1991.  He has worked in both research and production organizations in the area of vehicle dynamics and controls, electric and hybrid electric vehicles technology, and vehicle controls.  In his prior position, Mr. Kuang was a Technical Expert in hybrid controls, and played an instrumental role in the development of hybrid vehicle controls and the successful launch of the first Escape Hybrid - the first America's hybrid SUV and 2005 NAIAS Truck of the Year.  He was recognized by the company with a Henry Ford Technology Award in 2005 for his contributions to the Escape Hybrid success.
